Christos Hadjipapas was born in Cyprus in 1947. He studied Veterinary Medicine in Sofia, Bulgaria.
He has published three collections of poems: Endoscope (1969); Introduction to tragedy (1979), The Wells of History (2012).
Three novels: The color of the blue hyacinth (1989), In the wake of the black moon (1993); In the eye of the snake. (2000). And five collections of short-stories: The big lie (1981); Completely Normal (1984); Eros in Furnace. (2001) Like a Discus Thrower (In English)(2009) The Unsteady Step (2009).
Four of his books, two novels and two collections of short-stories have been awarded the Cyprus State Literary Prize in 1993, 2000 and 1984, 2001 respectively. Two of his books (The novel "In the eye of the serpent" and "The unsteady step" are published in Bulgaria. The later collection has been translated in Turkish and French as well. A lot of his short stories and poems are translated in various languages.
